The Story
The Airport Inn is a bar and grill at 62 Genesee Street in Greene, NY. Travis Evans and Melissa own the place. Family-owned since the 1980s — Travis has been in the wing business for over 20 years. Over 100 wing flavor combinations on the menu.
What I Built
Homepage. The hero opens with a full-width photo of their wings and the tagline “Over 100 Wing Flavors. Cold Drinks. Good Times.” Below that, a stats bar showing 40+ years of family history and 100+ wing flavors. Then the signature wings section with a 4-photo grid of different sauces — bourbon glaze, honey gold, buffalo, garlic parm. Daily specials are laid out day by day so regulars can see what’s on without calling. There’s a section about Travis and Melissa with a sunset photo. Then an events teaser, real Google reviews with star ratings and customer names, and a final CTA.
Menu page. Full menu organized by category. Not a PDF — actual HTML content that loads fast, looks good on a phone, and Google can index.
Events page. This is the standout. The Airport Inn hosts live music most weekends. Each upcoming act gets its own section with a phone-frame mockup — it’s styled to look like an Instagram post with the venue name, photo, and event details. There’s a collapsed preview grid showing the next 3 acts, and an “expand” button that reveals the full showcase with detailed descriptions for each one. When a new act is booked, updating the page takes a few minutes — just swap the info and image.
Gallery page. Photo gallery with a lightbox viewer. Click any photo, it opens full-screen with prev/next navigation.
About page. The story of Travis and Melissa — how they brought the Airport Inn to Genesee Street, what the place means to them.
FAQ page. Common questions: parking, reservations, takeout, private events.
Contact page. Address, phone, email, hours, and an embedded Google Maps iframe so people can get directions with one tap.
Three story pages. These are long-form pages that tell the real history of the Airport Inn. “A New Home on Genesee Street” covers how Travis and Melissa brought the Airport Inn to 62 Genesee Street in July 2025. “The Night Everything Changed” tells the story of the 2019 fire that destroyed the original location and the 2,500 people who reached out to Travis personally. “Aunt Di’s Wing Sauce” is the story behind the house sauce — a family recipe that’s on every table. Each story page has its own layout, photos, and narrative.
Design Decisions
Color palette. Warm amber and copper tones pulled from the bar’s actual atmosphere — the wood tones, the lighting, the warm feel of the space at night. The accent color runs through buttons, section labels, and hover states.
Dark/light theme toggle. The Airport Inn is two different vibes depending on when you go. At night it’s a bar — moody lighting, live music, drinks. On the weekends it’s a brunch spot — mimosa flights, breakfast pizzas, families. The dark theme matches the evening atmosphere. The light theme matches the daytime crowd. Users can switch with a toggle button in the corner.
Mobile CTA bar. A sticky phone button fixed to the bottom of the screen on mobile. When someone’s looking up a bar on their phone, they want to call — not fill out a contact form. One tap to dial.
Real reviews. The reviews section pulls actual Google reviews with full star ratings, customer names, and quoted text. Andrew Banas, Amy Kocik, Lynn Treiman, Frank Cagnina Jr — real people, real words. No fabricated testimonials.

What Makes This Site Work
- 10 pages of real content — homepage, full menu, events, gallery, about, FAQ, and contact. Every page has a purpose. Nothing is filler.
- Events showcase with phone-frame mockups — each live music act gets a visual that looks like scrolling through social media. Easy to update when new events are booked.
- Full HTML menu — not a PDF scan. Loads instantly, works on any screen size, and Google can actually index it for search.
- Dark/light theme toggle — matches the bar’s two identities: evening hangout and weekend brunch spot.
- Real Google reviews with names — actual 5-star reviews from real customers. No fake testimonials.
- Daily specials laid out by day — Wing Night Monday, $5 Margarita Tuesday, Specialty Burger Wednesday, Spin to Win Thursday, $2 Domestics Friday, Brunch Saturday & Sunday. A regular can check what’s on without calling.
- Mobile CTA bar — sticky phone button on mobile so customers can call with one tap.
- Schema markup — structured data so Google shows hours, address, and phone number directly in search results.
- GSAP scroll animations — sections fade in as you scroll. Smooth, not distracting.
- Responsive across every device — tested on phone, tablet, and desktop.
