The Story
Chenango SportsZone is an indoor sports training facility in Greene, NY. HitTrax baseball and softball simulators, a golf simulator powered by GSPro, batting cages, pitching machines, training programs, and facility rental. My dad runs the place.
This isn’t a paying client — it’s a portfolio piece. When someone asks “what can you build?” this is the site I point to. It’s also a testing ground. Design ideas, layout experiments, animation techniques — I try things here first, then bring what works into client builds.
What I Built
6 pages with a bold green-and-black color scheme that matches the SportsZone brand.
Homepage. High-energy hero with the SportsZone logo and a tagline: “HitTrax Baseball & Softball · Golf Simulator · Batting Cages · Greene, NY.” Below that, a services grid showing everything the facility offers — HitTrax, golf simulator, batting cages, training programs, and facility rental. Each card links to its detailed page. Then a section about the facility with an interior photo and a write-up about what makes it different from big-city training centers. A featured technology section showcasing HitTrax and the golf simulator side by side with detailed specs. A photo gallery. And a CTA to book a session.
Services page. Full breakdown of everything the facility offers with descriptions and details.
About page. The story of why the facility exists — Greene needed an indoor training option so athletes don’t have to drive to Binghamton or further.
HitTrax page. Dedicated page for the HitTrax simulator. What it is, how it works, what data it tracks (exit velocity, launch angle, distance), game modes (Home Run Derby, Point Game, Team Battle), and why it matters for player development. The system uses computer vision to measure every swing accurate to within 1 MPH.
Golf Simulator page. Dedicated page for the GSPro-powered golf sim. Over 1,000 lidar-accurate courses including Pebble Beach, St Andrews, and Torrey Pines. Full swing data tracking. Up to 8 players. Online leagues and tournaments.
Contact page. Phone, email, location. Simple.
Design Decisions
Color palette. Green, dark green, and black — taken directly from the SportsZone brand. The greens run through headings, buttons, accents, and the nav. The black background keeps it bold and high-contrast, which fits an indoor sports facility.
Feature sections with side-by-side layout. The HitTrax and golf simulator sections on the homepage each get a large photo on one side and detailed specs on the other. This layout lets the tech sell itself — the specs are impressive (1,000+ courses, 30 MLB stadiums, swing data to 1 MPH accuracy), so showing them clearly matters.
Gallery. Six photos of the actual facility — the wide interior shot, the HitTrax dual-screen setup, the golf simulator, batting cages, equipment, and coaching sessions. All real photos of the real space.
No pricing on the site. Pricing for sessions and rentals is handled by phone. The site drives calls, not transactions.

What Makes This Site Work
- 6 pages with dedicated technology pages — HitTrax and the golf simulator each get their own page with full specs and details. These are the facility’s biggest selling points, so they deserve the real estate.
- Bold branded color scheme — green, dark green, and black pulled directly from the SportsZone brand. No generic palette.
- Real facility photos — six actual photos of the interior, equipment, simulators, and coaching sessions. Not stock photos.
- Tech specs that sell — exit velocity, launch angle, 1,000+ courses, 30 MLB stadiums, accurate to 1 MPH. These details are what make parents and athletes take it seriously.
- Services grid on the homepage — every offering visible at a glance with one click to learn more.
- GSAP scroll animations — sections animate in on scroll. Adds polish without slowing anything down.
